$5.00     cable links for the optical board set (This is the 2-piece cable set that links the right/left board. They may look okay, but soldering wires directly in the board without a connector is ALWAYS a bad idea [well known and practiced by Synhouse 27 years ago as seen on this Synhouse MIDIJACK that anyone else would have made by just soldering the wires directly into the board, with the same kind of MIDI retrofit product ending up like this], and strand by strand all the wires break off even if they appear to be still hanging on and half the keys can go dead because of these garbage wires soldered in very, very poorly with no cleaning afterward. The Synhouse wires of fully automated production are the wires the optical boards should have had in the first place.)

For WENDELjr drum replacement system (the sound of Roger Nichols/Steely Dan/Walter Becker/Donald Fagen)

(VIDEO) (VIDEO)

$1,600     WENDELjr Drum Replacement System sample playback unit, full setup with a full drum kit of 8 sound boards
$70.00     Heart kick/snare sound board (2 sounds, this kick is the sound of Nirvana Nevermind, a good, versatile kick drum that can be EQ'd into many different types of kick drums, snare is deep, bright, and sort of a hi-fi version of the LinnDrum or Linn 9000 snare drum, or said another way, deep and powerful like the 9000 snare, but bright like the LinnDrum snare)
$70.00     Kick-PL A/B sound board (2 sounds, so rare it isn't even in the WENDELjr literature, a very strong kick drum with a lot of attack, very transient)
$70.00     Snare 1B sound board (-A- sound, a deep ballad type snare drum)
$70.00     Snare 1 left/snare 4 right sound board (2 sounds, this is the right-hand left-hand snare pair discussed in the manual)
$175.00     Tom-2 sound board (-D- sound, just about the best tom sound, this is probably the best all around WENDELjr cart, as it sounds great throughout the entire tuning range, and that can't often be said about something from the variable rate sampling [Synclavier, Fairlight, LinnDrum, Emulator, etc.] era)
$175.00     Tom-3 sound board (-D- sound, another excellent tom sound, similar to tom 2, but a heavier tom with more of a hard rock slamming sound and less of the crystal clear tone of tom 2)
$70.00     Hi hat-2A/hat open sound board (2 sounds, closed hi-hat and open hi-hat, together they can track and replace open-closed hi-hat drum machine patterns, excellent hi-hat sounds, it's worth $100 just to hear it once)
$325.00     Ride cymbal (Ride Cym-1) sound board (-E- long sound, a long sound in a two board set, a sparkling, stunning ride cymbal sound, this ride cymbal is the famous one with 11 seconds of natural decay that is played back from 16 different ROM chips spread across two boards that go in both slots at the same time)
$275.00     Crash cymbal (Crash Cym-1) sound board (-H- long sound, a long sound in a two board set, a sound so rare it isn't even in the WENDELjr literature, an excellent crash cymbal with a hard attack and a long, natural decay, has a very different character at different tunings, so it is versatile, this crash cymbal is played back from 10 different ROM chips spread across two boards that go in both slots at the same time)
$70.00     Cross stick/block 1 sound board (2 sounds, the best cross stick ever heard, sounds like the one in the middle of Donald Fagen's Tomorrow's Girls ["In the cool of the evening, in the last light of the triple sun.."], a crisp, clear wood block)
$70.00     Clap B/A sound board (2 sounds, one short with a lot of transients, one not quite as tight that works well double-tracking with CLAP-A so it sounds like more people, or select "Alt" so that it will be alternated with the other claps, or multitrack and change the tuning just slightly on each new track, building up some very large crowds this way, these are truly excellent, bright clap sounds, like Boston's More Than a Feeling, and good for hip hop)
$70.00     Cow 1 open/cow 2 muted sound board (2 sounds, excellent, full frequency cowbell sounds, a must have if you want to play Dance the Night Away, more cowbell!)
$70.00     Cow 3 open/cow 4 muted sound board (2 sounds, two more excellent cowbell sounds)
$70.00     Sand block A/B sound board (2 sounds, a sound so rare it isn't even in the WENDELjr literature, a bright, smooth sound similar to a LinnDrum cabasa sound)
$70.00     Timbale-1/2 sound board (2 sounds)
$70.00     Guiro ("Duck") short/long sound board (2 sounds, this sound is a Guiro stroked with a small wooden stick)
$799.00     full drum kit on 7 sound boards (7 sounds, Heart kick/snare, Tom-2, Hi hat-2A/hat open, Ride cymbal [Ride Cym-1], Crash cymbal [Crash Cym-1] as described in the individual listings above, at a $116.00 discount)

Most of the sounds in here are unheard-of rare. All the guys you know who have WENDELjr units don't have these sounds, do they? Do you know why? It's because of the prices, the ride cymbal sound alone cost $454.00 in 1987, the crash cymbal just slightly less, and even short single sounds were $80.00. That's why 2 out of 5 WENDELjr machines seen for sale only have the Heart kick/snare sound (which was included in the price of every unit shipped) and the other 3 have no sounds at all.

The WENDEL sounds are not just the sound of Steely Dan Gaucho/Walter Becker/Donald Fagen, but was also the bass drum of Nirvana Nevermind, also used for the Arcadia album, used by The Corrs, major sound production companies used it for nearly all metal bands for over 20 years, and Tony Blanc did engineering for Bon Jovi, Chicago, Rihanna, Shakira, Sting, etc. and used the sounds as well.

For Yamaha TX816/TX216

$185.00     Synhouse/Synclav.com Synclavier Power Supply Replacement/Upgrade for Yamaha TX216/TX816     (VIDEO)     (ORDER)

Disk Drives

Vintage floppy drive adapters:

$12.00     5.25"---3.5" floppy drive emulator adapter 34-pin dual row female---34-pin edge card w/shunt jumper (full replacement of all-time industry standard TEAC FD-235-supplied adapter)     (VIDEO)
$24.00     8"---5.25" floppy drive adapter 34-pin dual row male ejector header---50-pin dual row male ejector header for flash emulators,  putting 50-pin 8" floppy drives on 34-pin Shugart/IBM controllers, use with Teletek Systemaster, etc. (1981 design, VERY high quality ejector header connectors)

Vintage SCSI drive (hard drive, CD-ROM, magneto-optical, Bernoulli/SyQuest/iOmega/Jaz etc.) adapters, manufactured by Synhouse from design done by Synhouse --- not generic imported commodities --- super high quality.

Five models, all the exact same size/shape/form factor, only differing by SCSI circuit (2 different circuits available, standard [always green color, not compatible with all devices including at least some Macintosh models and ALL NED Synclaviers] and Synhouse [always black color, better, compatible with many devices including all Macintosh models and all NED Synclaviers tested at Synhouse---and Synhouse has more of BOTH than anyone who ever existed, these were tested with a stack of 3 PowerMac 9600 towers in 2025, the black ones worked, the green ones did not]) and option of plain box header or proper ejector header (which needs more clearance in the installation but never breaks, a 50-pin dual row female is too wide with too much cable retention force to just yank it out of the 50-pin straight or box header without it suddenly releasing and flinging out and breaking one or both plastic ends and bending many of the end pins eventually, it is inevitable, for example, the Fairlight CMI floppy drive controller has a proper 50-pin ejector header and DOES NOT BREAK.........almost the only part of the system that doesn't), all convert 68-pin Wide SCSI to older, narrow, 8-bit 50-pin SCSI and are to be installed on the back side of a 68-pin SCSI hard drive which is the ultimate form factor for a SCSI adapter:

$8.00     25-year worldwide standard green SCSI 68-pin mini-Centronics MD68M to 50-pin male adapter w/box header
$11.00
25-year worldwide standard green SCSI 68-pin mini-Centronics MD68M to 50-pin male adapter w/ejector header

$45.00     Synhouse design for Synclavier black SCSI 68-pin mini-Centronics MD68M to 50-pin male adapter w/ejector header
$20.00     Synhouse design (same circuit as $42/$45 above, but w/Synhouse instead of Synclavier logo, and a much higher volume production product) black SCSI 68-pin mini-Centronics MD68M to 50-pin male adapter w/box header
$23.00     Synhouse design (same circuit as $42/$45 above, but w/Synhouse instead of Synclavier logo, and a much higher volume production product) black SCSI 68-pin mini-Centronics MD68M to 50-pin male adapter w/ejector header

WARNING: SERIOUSLY BEWARE of the trash hobby-quality boards and other computer/electronic music-related products that little guys all over the e-commerce platforms and forums are pushing out for any price they can get.

Head-to-head on one of those platforms, Synhouse CRUSHES ALL OF THEM EVERY TIME due to superior quality and detail, which includes the correct quality circuit boards, correct quality/process gold fingers if called for, proper factory production soldering methods, proper soldering materials, and proper flux cleaning, which is apparently something none of those sellers have heard of, resulting in flux all over their boards, corroding and self-destructing as the real vintage equipment gets older and older, outlasting the crap fake adapters/interface boards/etc. the know-nothings are making for them and people who don't know any better are installing in them.

Synhouse has the most experience in PCB design (with a full development process like no one else) and PCBA assembly of anyone ever in the vintage computer/electronic music categories (and more experience in all forms of manufacturing than anyone in the electronic music field, past, present, and future, the others have horrible results with horrible methods and the cheapest imported components they know of, every time). Trust in the experience of Synhouse.
